The Government of India announced the SHE Mart Mission in the annual budget of 2026-27 to change the lives of rural women from credit seekers to enterprise owners. It aims at establishing community-based retail outlets within cluster-level federations.
What is The SHE Mart Mission?
The mission was announced in the Annual Budget 2026 to transform rural women from credit seekers into enterprise owners. Under this mission, Rural Women will get access to new markets through Community Owner Retail outlets in Every District where items produced by Self Help Groups will be sold.Â
SHE stands for Self Help Entrepreneur, which means the government is now facilitating enterprise ownership of Marts which will act as the front-end retail face for millions of women.Â
SHE Mart Mission Objective
- The Main Objective of the mission is to bridge the gap between rural production and urban/local consumption.
- To Support Women Engaged in Animal husbandry, agriculture-related activities and other Occupations.Â
- To provide a permanent physical and digital platform for Self Help Group made Groups.
- To Move Women From Credit-led livelihood into Owners of Businesses for Rural Women.
- To Help Rural Women and Self Help Groups to get Market Access.
- To ensure Sustainable and Steady income opportunities for women.
- To contribute to the Goal of creating 3 crore lakhpati Didis Mission.
- Financial Independence and Leadership among Rural Women.

SHE Mart Mission Eligibility Criteria
- Women who are active members of a Self-help Group (SHG) registered under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM).
- Women who are trained under the Lakhpati Didi Programme will get priority under the mission.
- Local Artisan & Manufacturer will get a chance to get enrolled under the mission.
How to Apply for the SHE Mart Mission?
Online Application Process for SHE Mart Mission has been integrated with the State Rural Livelihood Mission. Follow The Below Instructions for Step by Step Application Process-
- Before applying, first ensure that you are a Part of a self-help group in your Village or Gram panchayat and if not, you may contact the Gram Panchayat Office or Block Development Office to enrol in one.Â
- You Can Check the List of SHGs running in Your Village/Block/District by Clicking Here.
- Your SHG must submit a proposal of interest to the Respective CLF (Cluster Level Federation).
- CLF and State Rural Livelihood Mission officials will check the product for Quality, Quantity and Marketability.
- After the Quality Check of the Products List of Shortlisted SHGs will be published.
- If you are Shortlisted then members will receive training for inventory management, digital payments and Customer Service.
- Respective State will launch a Dedicated Portal to register SHE Mart Branding and Support.
- Keep an eye on SRLM for Shop Allotment in Your Area.Â
